The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is how your guests are getting from point A to point B. Even more so if you are having drinks at your reception. How can you ensure that everyone will get home safely while still having the option to let loose and have fun?
All Pro Charter has some tips for making your wedding day as smooth as possible and getting ground transportation taken care of easily.
Who to Transport
You don’t have to provide transportation for every single wedding guest. If your wedding is local, you probably have a lot of friends who can easily drive themselves. If you have a lot of out of town guests and family members, providing transportation will make it easier for them, especially if they are not familiar with the area. If your wedding and reception are at two separate locations, providing a way for people to get to both without them driving all over town is not necessary, but would be a nice touch.
You need to also keep in mind the wedding party. How are the bride and groom getting to the reception? How are the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting there? Once you know how the transportation will be split up, we can help you figure out which vehicles will work best.
What to Provide Transportation For
There are several different events that happen on your wedding day or wedding weekend and they may not all require transportation. Keep in mind your ceremony and reception and how the bridal party will get to both. It is common for the bride and bridal party to arrive at the ceremony together while the groom arrives with his groomsmen.
After the ceremony, if you are moving to a different reception location, the bride and groom will want to ride together with or without the rest of the bridal party. Don’t forget your parents or siblings! Make sure all the wedding party VIPs are accounted for.
If you have out of town family, make sure they have a way to get from where they are staying to the ceremony and reception. Encourage guests to stay at the same hotel so that there is only pickup location.
If you are providing transportation back to the hotel at the end of the night, make sure everyone knows what time the transportation is leaving. We can work with you to figure out how many drop offs need to occur, as not all guests will stay until the very end.
Lastly, figure out how long it will take to travel from where you are staying to the venue. This will help you establish pickup times. Don’t forget to add in a buffer for traffic or road closures! We recommend adding 15 to 20 minutes to each pickup time.
